Car Covers
Your Coverking Custom Car Cover will need to be cleaned
periodically to maintain its protective abilities and good
looks. Dirt and dust on either side of the cover can degrade
its performance to repel moisture. On the underside of the
cover, over time, this dust acts as an abrasive that can
scratch the vehicles surface. All Coverking Custom and
Universal Car Covers are made with fabrics that are
inherently easy to keep clean.
DO NOT use an automatic washing machine with your Coverking
Car Cover. DO NOT use any type of bleach.
Method For
Cleaning Entire Cover: DO NOT wash your cover or
vehicle in direct sunlight. To clean dust and dirt form the
top of the cover, install the cover on your vehicle. Hose
off the loose dirt, then wash the cover as you would the
actual vehicle, using a soft sponge or cloth in water with a
mild, bio-degradable cleaner. Hose down the cover again with
water and hang dry. DO NOT wring cover. DO NOT store cover
while it is still damp. To clean dust and dirt from the
underside of the cover, reverse the cover and place it on
the vehicle and hose off the loose dust. If necessary, wash
it further with a soft sponge or cloth soaked in water with
a mild, bio-degradable cleaner. Hose down the cover again
with water and hang to air dry.Again, DO NOT wring cover. To

Stormproof Car Cover is a revolutionary premium
all-weather fabric used by Coverking for our custom car
covers. Stormproof is a special ultra-densely woven
polyester fabric. Microfibers are used to create a
super-tight, super dense weave that allows air to pass
through, but is too tightly woven to allow water molecules
to pass. Other fabrics on the market have the same
'breathable' quality, but achieve it through treatments or
coatings. Stormproof is un-treated, un-coated - so it will
always be water repellant and breathable (coated or treated
fabrics will lose their breathability after the coating is
worn off). This material is made in Japan.
Coverking developed Stormproof in-house. We first made the
specification and assembled several tests to benchmark our
desire for Stormproof - that was the easy part. Finding a
mill that was capable of weaving such a dense fabric was
tougher. Ultimately, after over 2 years of searching, we
found a special technical textile mill in Japan. After
months of trial and error, the mill achieved our desire -
and Stormproof has been protecting vehicles ever since.
Coverking uses wax coated thread in
overlapped, double stitched seams. The wax coating expands
in the pierced hole created during the stitching process, to
help cover the hole. Once again, some competitors take the
cheaper route by using an ultra-sonic welding of the
material instead of sewing. This process is far cheaper,
because it melts the fabric layers together. It also doesn't
use any thread. Unfortunately, the area melted together
becomes very hard and examples of scratching the vehicle
surface are not uncommon.

1 year repair or replace warranty on custom Stomrproof
covers.

Coverguard Car Cover is
a budget fabric used by Coverking for our entry level
universal car covers. This material is made in China. The
technical name of this material is Spunbond Polyester. The
specification Coverking uses for Coverguard is:
Coverking uses spunbond polyester. Most competitors use
spunbond polypropylene. Polyropylene is inherently less UV
resistant and is more likely to degrade with exposure to UV
rays emitted from the sun. Coverking also adds additional UV
retardant, which ensures even longer stability in the sun.
Finally, Coverking insists on 85 gram per square meter - far
thicker than the usual 70 gram used by most competitors.

Triguard Car Cover is
a value fabric used by Coverking for our mid level universal
car covers and entry level custom car covers. This material
is made in Taiwan. The technical name of this material is
Spunbond Polyester laminated to Meltblown Polypropylene
laminated to Spunbond Polyester. The specification Coverking
uses for Triguard is far superior to other 3 layer car cover
materials available.
Coverking uses spunbond

resistant and is more likely to degrade with exposure to UV
rays emitted from the sun. Coverking also adds additional UV
retardant, which ensures even longer stability in the sun.
Finally, Coverking insists on the heaviest inner and outer
layer materials. Most other companies use materials about
15% lighter than Coverking.

Silverguard Plus Car Cover is a
great all-weather fabric used by Coverking for our custom
car covers. Silverguard Plus is a special woven polyester
fabric made with 300 denier yarn (twice as thick as similar
fabrics) with a thick, silver reflective urethane coating on
the outside. The polyester material is non-scratch and the
urethane outer coating should withstand extreme sun for
years. After this base material is produced, we take the
material to another facility to adhere a special soft lining
to the inside. This lining adds softness, and also some
bulk.
Coverking developed Silverguard Plus to
address the middle-market with special consideration for
sunny climates, and for people who need a soft inner liner.
Silverguard Plus is also water resistant and extra soft to
the vehicle's paint, so it is a great all-round cover. Keep
in mind the extra inner lining makes Silverguard Plus almost
twice as bulky as the regular Silverguard.

Satin Stretch car Cover is truly
a material with no equal.
Coverking used to offer a heavy, 100% cotton flannel fabric.
Unfortunately the material would leave lint on many
vehicles, especially those with convertible tops. However
there was a strong demand from customers of special custom
or exotic vehicles to have a sexy, ultra-soft fabric in
several matching colors. After our regular brain storming
session, we approached the fabric mills who made some of the
finest lingerie in the industry - we asked them if they
could add a special soft inner fleece liner to the fabric,
and strengthen the material without losing the softness,
shine, and stretch. What they came out with is amazing.
Since the initial release of Satin Stretch, we've gone a
step further and invested our own money to help the fabric
mill prepare a special 78" width fabric - this allows almost
all patterns to be made with 4 fewer seams, resulting in a
purer, uninterrupted fit. We also re-made patterns for
virtually all vehicles in our pattern library to accomodate
the extra stretch properties of the material.
To date, thousands of the finest cars in
the world are looking as good (we like to think better) than
when they are uncovered, thanks to Coverking's Custom Satin
Stretch Covers. recently some unfortunate companies have
chosen to purchase a polyester version of this fabric in a
60 inch width - the material they use has nowhere near the
shine, softness or stretch of our pure nylon material, but
is advertised similarly. The best way to appreciate our
Satin Stretch is to visit our facebook page at
http://facebook.com/coverking, request a material swatch, or
ask a customer who has already purchased one.Satin Stretch
is for indoor use only, and will fade if kept in the direct
sun. To clean, we suggest dry cleaning only. Spot stains can
be cleaned with a very diluted mix of Woolite and water.
Autobody Armor Car Cover is an exclusive fabric
for car covers, combining some of the super custom stretch
fit of Coverking's Satin Stretch Covers with the water
repellence of Coverking's Stormproofmaterial. No other car
cover is able to provide such a combination. After receiving
several requests, Coverking took the challenge of combining
fit with outdoor protection, and we feel we succeeded - the
ultimate proof is the numerous accolades from customers
using Autobody Armor in the real world.
Coverking developed Autobody Armor in-house. Unlike
Stormproof, Autobody Armor is a laminate of polyester,
lycra, microporus film and a soft liner. The trick was
perfecting the laminating process, to keep the layers
together while maintaining water resistance. It is much more
art than science, and hasn't been equaled yet.

Coverking offers a wide selection of fabrics,
many of them specifically engineered to suit these unique
requirements of an automotive car cover. Our different
fabrics offer different levels of protection and performance
- some focus on protecting from a specific element, like sun
exposure or other weather conditions, while others keep your
vehice clean and free from dust or dirt.
The qualities
that make a Car Cover suitable for use depend largely on the
fabric properties. Coverking designs it’s own fabrics, and
has the world’s leading textile mills handle the
manufacturing. Because Coverking has a team of engineers to
specify exact material composition and construction, we are
able to meet the most stringent material test requirements
set out by the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers.
Coverking does not use “off-the-shelf” fabrics, which are
ill-suited to car cover needs. All Coverking outdoor Custom
Car Cover materials are breathable – this allows moisture
which is trapped under the car to escape through the cover,
preventing a “greenhouse” condition of condensation which
may result in rust damage. Coverking pioneered colored
materials and two tone designs for outdoor use. Unlike other
car covers, Coverking Custom Car Covers are designed to
withstand the color fading effects of the sun. We have complied some information
and comparissons of our fabrics to help you identify which
fabric is best suited to you needs. This information shows
how the fabrics will perform in certain conditions, however
please keep in mind that our comparissons are based on the
performance comparisons between these fabrics and with other
fabrics currently used for vehicle covers
